The National Food and Strategic Reserves Administration said on the 16th China’s
summer grain procurement season is nearing completion and market operations
remain orderly. Cumulative purchases: wheat above 100 mln tonnes and early
indica rice 12 mln tonnes, with progress slightly ahead of last year. Regions
have prepared roughly 110 mln tonnes of summer-grain storage; the Agricultural
Development Bank of China has released 150 bln yuan of dedicated credit. State
grain traders including Sinograin, COFCO and supply-and-marketing groups have
led market entry, with cash and warehousing ready to ensure smooth farmer sales.
