London Metal Exchange (LME) stocks: copper rose 4,925 tonnes; zinc rose 1,450 tonnes; lead fell 1,500 tonnes; nickel rose 210 tonnes; tin rose 100 tonnes; aluminium unchanged.

Russian Defence Ministry said Russian forces struck Ukrainian energy and transport infrastructure over the past 24 hours, targeting facilities it said were being used to support Ukrainian armed forces.

Through August the China–Kazakhstan (Lianyungang) logistics cooperation base dispatched 666 China–Europe/Asia trains, shipping 54,600 TEU, up 9.18% YoY, Nanjing customs data show. Since opening the base has run over 8,200 trains and moved more than 700,000 TEU. It operates six international routes — covering five Central Asian countries, a China–Kyrgyzstan–Uzbekistan corridor, China–Russia links and trans‑Caspian services — and serves five outbound border ports including Alashankou and Horgos, reaching multiple stations across Asia and Europe. Major cargoes include vehicles and parts, chemicals, home appliances, textiles and electronics.
