On the 16th a war-damaged residential block in southwest Gaza City collapsed at
about 02:15 local time, killing at least 20 people and injuring 25, with roughly
100 reported missing or believed trapped under rubble. The six-storey building,
already declared unsafe after fighting, still housed six households; several
nearby refugee tents were also damaged. Palestinian Civil Defense in the Gaza
Strip says rescue teams are searching the debris.
