Sept. 16 — China's huangjiu sector rallied. Kuaijishan jumped to a second
straight daily limit-up, closing at 28.33 yuan, while Guyuelongshan and Jinfeng
Wine also hit limit-up. Market chatter says large baijiu distributors are
increasingly seeking national agency roles in huangjiu, fuelling expectations of
the category expanding beyond Zhejiang. Guyuelongshan confirmed that, amid an
adjustment in the baijiu sector and narrowing channel margins for some products,
high-quality distributors are looking for new categories; higher channel margins
for high-end huangjiu and a low-alcohol, health-focused consumption trend are
making the category attractive.
