Turkey's interior ministry said on the 16th that Iran supports Turkish actions
to disband the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) and its branches. Momeni called
for Turkey, Iraq, Iran and Syria to cooperate to push the PKK and its branches
to lay down arms and achieve a fundamental resolution to the Kurdish issue. The
statement said the two countries also discussed strengthening border security
cooperation and joint action against organized crime, drug trafficking and
illegal migration.
