Fourth formal USMCA negotiation round between the US and Mexico has been postponed one week to Sept. 28-29 in Washington, originally scheduled for the week of Sept. 21, the Wall Street Journal reports. The US is expected to push Mexico for tighter rules-of-origin for AI equipment, household appliances and medical devices to raise North American content and reduce non-North American components entering the US market. Talks will also cover tariff adjustments for steel, aluminum and autos as part of a US effort to tighten supply-chain rules and accelerate nearshoring of critical industries.
