Robot platform PrismaX warned a ~50 kg humanoid robot powered by a lithium
battery with peak output of several horsepower should be treated as heavy
machinery; whether it carries AI does not change its physical risk. Mistakes or
instruction misinterpretations by large models that normally produce incorrect
text can, in embodied AI, become collisions, crush injuries, dropped loads or
battery incidents. PrismaX says embodied AI safety requires two layers:
low-level hardware limits on speed, force and range of motion plus an
independent emergency stop; and high-level model controls that detect
uncertainty, refuse hazardous tasks and promptly return control to humans.
