Shinjiro Koizumi and Finance Minister Satsuki Katayama were retained.
Representative Yoshihiro Seki entered the cabinet for the first time as minister
of education, culture, sports, science and technology. A former Japan Innovation
Party secretary-general was appointed minister for regulatory reform, marking
the first time an Ishin member has joined the cabinet.
