Shanghai party secretary Chen Jining met members of the Asian Business Leaders
Association, including Alibaba co‑founder Joe Tsai, at an industry dialogue in
Shanghai. Chen urged firms to step up investment in the city and to locate more
globally oriented new businesses, R&D, technologies and services in Shanghai. He
said the city will continue to provide a market‑oriented, rule‑of‑law,
international business environment, maintain regular communication with
enterprises, solicit operator feedback to refine policy measures and improve
services, and support global companies and institutions to deepen and innovate
their operations in Shanghai.
