UK gilt yields slipped ahead of the Bank of England's rate decision as investors largely expect no change and will focus on the vote split and the BoE's assessment of second‑round inflation effects. Markets assign a 19% probability to a Thursday hike but fully price three 25bp hikes by March 2027. The US Federal Reserve raised rates on Wednesday as widely expected; a Fed official said inflation remains very high, increasing the prospect of further tightening. Tradeweb data showed the 10‑year UK gilt yield down 1.3 bps at 5.282%.

AstraZeneca will invest about 200 mln yuan to upgrade its Wuxi production and supply base with a new drug development and supply building to support process development and production for its cardiovascular drug candidates and to back global supply after commercialisation. The 5,800 sq m facility is scheduled to enter service in Q4 2029 and is expected to have annual capacity of about 400 mln tablets. Upon completion, the Wuxi site will engage in commercial-stage process development and could become AstraZeneca’s first APAC base capable of supporting a new drug’s global launch and supply.
