Fukui prefectural government said on Sept. 17 that Kansai Electric Power is carrying out a manual shutdown of Mihama nuclear plant Unit 3 in Mihama, Fukui, after water droplets were found near a secondary circuit pipe that does not contain radioactive material. The unit experienced a high-pressure turbine metal-cover steam leak in May; Kansai implemented countermeasures and restarted the reactor on Sept. 12.
