Ministry of Finance reported government fund budget expenditure for Jan–Aug at 5.195 trillion yuan, down 17% YoY. Central government fund spending was 317.5 billion yuan, down 58.3% YoY; local government fund spending was 4.877 trillion yuan, down 11.3% YoY. Spending tied to state land‑use right transfer receipts amounted to 2.179 trillion yuan, down 18.5% YoY.

China postal industry revenue excluding Postal Savings Bank direct operating income totaled 1.23 tln yuan in Jan–Aug, up 6.0% YoY. Express revenue was 1.03 tln yuan, +7.4% YoY. Jan–Aug delivery volume reached 145.46 bln items, +4.0%; express volume 134.06 bln, +4.6%. In August, industry revenue was 150.54 bln yuan, +5.3%; express revenue 127.15 bln yuan, +6.9%. August delivery volume was 18.03 bln items, +2.3%; express volume 16.60 bln, +2.7%.
