Li Qiang presided over a State Council meeting urging full, objective
recognition of population aging and deeper implementation of the national
strategy to address it. Policy directives focus on raising elderly service and
protection standards across eldercare, health promotion and social security;
strengthening a multi-tier, multi-pillar pension system; linking home, community
and institutional care delivery; expanding inclusive elderly services; and
developing products, services and new consumption scenarios targeted at older
adults to better meet demand.
