A State Council executive meeting chaired by Premier Li Qiang called for
stepped-up protection and management of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM)
traditional knowledge, coordinated protection and utilization of TCM resources,
deeper research into TCM theory, diagnostics and mechanisms, and expanded
promotion and application domestically and internationally to raise TCM’s global
influence. The meeting gave in-principle approval to draft amendments to 15
laws, including a revision of the Emergency Response Law, and decided to submit
the draft to the National People’s Congress Standing Committee for review.
