Peru's central bank projects the 2026 fiscal deficit at 1.5% of GDP, down from a prior estimate of 1.8%.

SoftBank secured an additional $450m, expanding a syndicated credit facility to $6.5bn to fund increased AI investment, people familiar with the matter said. The prior $6.05bn facility was due to expire this month; the revision gives SoftBank another year to draw the enlarged line. More than 20 banks participated. It is unclear whether SoftBank has drawn or plans to draw the new capacity. The facility is priced at 210 bps over SOFR.

The Bank of Japan approved an interest-rate policy decision by a 7-2 vote.
