European tech firms and officials have publicly challenged proposals by some US AI companies to slow AI development on safety grounds, calling them self-interested efforts to entrench incumbents and suppress rivals. Iranian Students' News Agency quoted sources saying a heavy missile struck the Prince Sultan air base south of Riyadh. Air-raid alarms reportedly sounded in Riyadh and surrounding areas and explosions were heard in the Saudi capital.
