Malaysia's Transport Minister Lu Zhaofu resigned on the 19th after a Democratic Action Party (DAP) Central Executive Committee meeting that discussed the party's response to a conditional pardon allowing former prime minister Najib to serve the remainder of his sentence under home detention. DAP, the largest party in the ruling coalition, counts Lu as its secretary-general. Lu said his resignation was a protest against the pardon and that other DAP ministers would not resign.

Sept 20 — A Houthi spokesman said if Saudi Arabia continues military escalation in Yemen, the Houthis will mount stronger retaliatory attacks, describing their approach as "responding to escalation with escalation, and blockade with blockade" and invoking self‑defense. He denied Saudi claims that Yemen attacked Mecca and said Saudi forces have carried out 732 airstrikes recently, with aircraft operating from Khamis Mushait and Taif bases. He accused Saudi strikes of causing civilian casualties, violating Yemeni sovereignty and attempting explosive attacks on civilians in Sanaa.
