China's Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs and the China Meteorological
Administration on Sept 20 warned that from Sept 21–28 persistent rainfall will
raise autumn‑harvest risk across parts of China, including southeastern
Northwest, eastern Southwest, the Jianghan Plain (central Hubei), western
Huang‑Huai and northern Anhui. Between Sept 23–27 heavy to very heavy rain is
expected in northeast Sichuan, north‑central Chongqing, southeast Shaanxi,
southern Henan, northwest Hubei and northwest Anhui, with some areas seeing
torrential downpours and localized extreme rainfall. Authorities urged expedited
harvesting of mature crops during dry intervals, prompt ventilation and drying
before storage, and post‑rain drainage to lower soil moisture and enable farm
machinery operations.
