Axios reports the Trump administration has urged Ukraine to stop strikes on
Russian refineries, saying such attacks are pushing up global diesel prices;
diesel was repeatedly raised in recent communications. Ukraine chief negotiator
and foreign intelligence chief Rustem Umerov told reporters talks have
progressed and outstanding issues have been reduced to one or two key points,
but long-range strikes are escalating: Ukraine has struck Moscow and Russian
refinery targets while Russia continues missile attacks on Kyiv and other
cities. Umerov said the U.S. is pressing to end the war and is seeking to
provide security guarantees to Ukraine.
