Spot gold opened slightly lower on Monday at $4,373.75/oz.

Iran's Intelligence Ministry said on Sep 20 it recently dismantled three terror cells in Alborz, Kerman and West Azerbaijan provinces that it said were linked to the US and Israel; operations led to multiple arrests and several militants killed. Iran said on Sep 19 a man accused of providing Israeli intelligence with information on Iranian military bases was executed, and in August the judiciary said it executed two alleged spies for supplying coordinates, images and other intelligence on Iranian military and security sites to Israeli intelligence.
