A-share defense electronics sector rallied intraday; Hongming Electronics jumped over 10%, while Guanxiang Technology, Zhimingda, Dali Technology, Jingpin Special Equipment and Huaru Technology also gained.

China State Railway Group said national railway freight totaled 2.69 billion tonnes in Jan–Aug, averaging 187,400 loaded cars per day. Rail shipments of coal were 1.389 billion tonnes over the period, including 928 million tonnes of thermal (power) coal. The railway increased outward coal flows from major producing regions — Shanxi, Shaanxi, Inner Mongolia and Xinjiang — and worked to ensure thermal coal deliveries met demand over the summer peak. Coal stocks at power plants directly supplied by the national railway remained at elevated levels.

China CUSTOMS director Sun Meijun visited Uzbekistan Sept 15-17, meeting Uzbekistan Customs Committee chairman Mavlonov to implement leaders' consensus, advance bilateral customs cooperation and trade facilitation, and agreeing an action plan. She signed cooperation documents with Food Safety Committee chair Urunov on mutual quarantine for animal and plant products and on food safety collaboration. During the visit Sun met embassy staff, held talks with Chinese firms at Uzbek border ports to assess the operating environment, and consulted Uzbek customs personnel trained in China for feedback on training.
