South Korea's President Lee will visit the US and Mexico Sept 21-27 to attend
the UN General Assembly and may meet US President Trump. The potential Lee-Trump
meeting coincides with ongoing Seoul-Washington negotiations over details of a
$350 bln US investment plan under last year’s trade agreement; talks remain
active after Seoul postponed a planned parliamentary briefing on the scheme last
week. Lee is due to give a keynote at the UNGA on UN reform and meet UN
Secretary-General Guterres. He will travel to Mexico City on Wednesday and hold
a summit with President Sheinbaum on Thursday, followed by a joint press
conference and the signing of an MoU.
