Moody's Analytics said in a report Australia's unemployment rate is likely to
tick up to 4.6% in August from 4.5% in July. The firm cited softening economic
activity, partly driven by successive interest-rate hikes that have damped
demand. Falling new job ads and intensified competition for vacancies point to a
weakening labour market. Official unemployment data are due Thursday.
