Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps said on the 21st it is prepared for a
protracted war and would use new weapons and broaden the scope of fighting if
the "enemy" returns. Citing an IRGC spokesman, the statement said any new
"aggression" would prompt use of strategic weapons that have not previously been
disclosed or used. It added Iran seeks friendly relations with its neighbors and
that its missile strikes are aimed solely at US forces, equipment and bases and
do not threaten neighboring countries.
