China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) said it will
optimise radio spectrum allocation to drive wireless technology innovation,
support the wireless industry and strengthen the industrial base. Speaking at
the 2026 China Radio Conference, which opened on the 21st in Xiong'an New Area,
Hebei, an MIIT official said the ministry will pursue scientific spectrum
planning, precise supply, rational development and efficient use to accelerate
construction of a modern industrial system anchored by advanced manufacturing.
The ministry also pledged to build innovation platforms to link radio R&D with
industrial application; enhance radio governance by improving laws, regulations
and standards, expanding monitoring and interference enforcement, and cracking
down on illegal spectrum use and unauthorised stations; and deepen international
cooperation, including hosting the ITU 2027 World Radiocommunication Conference.
