Hang Seng rose 0.36% to 25,131.75 at midday after an early intraday spike; the Hang Seng Tech Index outperformed, up 0.99% to 4,467.27. Market turnover was HKD 146.06 bln. Tech names led gains, innovative-drug stocks were active, mainland property names weakened and AI application plays showed mixed performance. The Jiangsu Bureau of Statistics said Jan–Aug industrial value added for enterprises above designated size rose 6.5% YoY. In August the metric rose 5.7% YoY; value added in pharmaceutical manufacturing, special equipment manufacturing, automobile manufacturing and computer, communications and other electronic equipment manufacturing grew 13.8%, 13.0%, 11.1% and 10.9% YoY, respectively.
