Beijing, Sept 23 — Central state-owned enterprises met in Beijing to coordinate support for high-standard construction of the Hainan Free Trade Port. Hainan officials presented provincial economic development and core FT Port policies; executives from CNPC, CNOOC, Sinochem, General Technology Group, Sinopec, China Huaneng, China Communications Construction and Guoxin Holdings outlined their investment layouts during the "15th Five-Year" period and related support measures. Attendees said they will use Hainan’s opening policies, leverage corporate strengths, optimize on-island industry placement and coordinate investments to contribute to the FT Port’s development.

At midday close, China’s front-month commodity futures were mostly lower. Asphalt and SC crude led losses, down over 4%; ethylene glycol (EG) fell nearly 4%; short fiber, methanol and lithium carbonate dropped over 3%; PET flake fell about 3%. Risers included 20# rubber (+>3%), rubber (+>2%), synthetic rubber (~+2%), the China–Europe container shipping route (+>1%), and SHFE nickel, industrial silicon, platinum and apples (around +1%).
