Sept 23 — At a routine Foreign Ministry briefing, spokesman Guo Jiakun was asked by AFP whether China would continue to permit Iranian commercial flights to land after the U.S. said it would start penalizing countries that allow such flights from today. Guo said China's position is consistent and that Beijing firmly opposes illegal unilateral sanctions lacking UN Security Council authorization.

FAW Jiefang said on Sept. 23 it held talks with a strategic customer in the Central Asia region to discuss export models and construction of a KD (knock-down) assembly plant. The parties exchanged views on localized production, parts delivery, local-production certification, after-sales network build-out and Central Asia tariff policy, and agreed in principle to cooperate.
