On the 24th in New York during the 81st UN General Assembly, Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz met Iranian President Pezeshkian. They reaffirmed long-standing bilateral ties and agreed to deepen cooperation and regular consultations. Shehbaz expressed concern about ongoing regional conflicts, urged restraint, de-escalation and sustained diplomatic engagement, and called for implementation of the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding, saying Pakistan will play a constructive role.
