Ghana's central bank governor said the Ghana Gold Commission is hedging part of the country's gold exports.

Swiss National Bank Chairman Schlegel said uncertainty remains high and the bank will continue to monitor conditions and adjust policy if necessary.

Hong Kong stocks closed lower after a weak open and midday rebound. HSI fell 0.29%; Hang Seng Tech Index down 0.41%. Oil names outperformed—00857.HK up ~3%—and port/transport rallied, 01138.HK +>2%. Banks, agriculture, auto dealers, power and gas saw buying. Biotech underperformed, 09969.HK down >7%; chip names extended losses, 03986.HK down >5%. Other laggards included optical communications, mainland property, media, airlines and nonferrous metals.
