Iranian President Pezeshkian said when asked whether the war could end before year-end that the decision rests with the US. He said, If the current US administration wants to reach an agreement within the framework of international law, it can; if it does not, then whether the conflict ends before or after the US midterm elections makes no difference to us.

President Pezeshkian said Iran has signed and approved an understanding framework and remains willing to pursue an agreement with the US. He said Iran will continue to abide by its NPT commitments and would relinquish 60% enriched uranium within international law and the NPT framework. Pezeshkian said the Strait of Hormuz has remained open and accused others of attacking Iran without legal justification. He warned Iran is not the initiator of conflict but will respond firmly if hostilities continue.
