A Pakistani military source said on 24th that security forces killed several armed fighters from Afghanistan overnight in Gulistan district of Balochistan. The source said intermittent firefights were continuing and Pakistani forces would maintain high alert along the border, prepared to respond to any incursions. Afghan government spokesman Mujahid posted that Pakistan conducted early-morning airstrikes on three Afghan provinces on 24th, killing at least four people; the strikes hit Paktia, Khost and Kandahar, and Kabul said it would give an appropriate response to what it called barbaric aggression.
