Iranian Foreign Minister Araghchi met Egypt’s Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty on Thursday afternoon to discuss bilateral ties and regional developments, with a focus on the Palestinian situation. Araghchi said all countries, particularly Islamic states, have a moral and international-legal responsibility to prevent large-scale harm to Palestinians. He cited Israeli actions against Lebanon, Syria and other countries, and called for stronger regional coordination — including within the United Nations and the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation — to counter Israel’s expanding influence and actions that threaten regional security and stability. The two ministers also discussed strengthening Iran–Egypt bilateral cooperation.
