Shanxi Governor Lu Dongliang chaired a provincial meeting on coal safety and stable production and supply, urging accelerated resumption of operations and stabilization of output and deliveries while strictly upholding safety standards. He called for reversing the recent decline in coal production and rebuilding the province’s coal-industry ecosystem to support national energy security and meet household energy demand.

President Trump said on the 26th he rejected Iran's proposal to reopen the Strait of Hormuz, asserting the United States fully controls the channel and that large volumes of oil are flowing through it. He said Iran had sought an immediate agreement to reopen the strait but he declined.
