Shaanxi Space Breeding Engineering Technology Research Center and Zhongke Satellite Technology Group Co. signed a cooperation agreement to establish a joint space‑breeding mutagenesis laboratory and announced the start of development of China’s first commercial space‑breeding dedicated satellite. The laboratory will open testing resources to research institutes and breeding units nationwide, create an open, shared space‑breeding innovation platform, and pursue joint talent training, collaborative project applications and accelerated technology transfer to support rural revitalization, modern agriculture and seed‑industry innovation.

U.S. officials said on Saturday the U.S. Transportation Department (DOT) will on Monday finalize a rule sharply lowering vehicle fuel-economy standards applicable through 2031. The move reverses the Biden-era push to steer automakers toward more electric vehicles. President Trump said he has approved the new car and truck fuel-economy standards and that they will reduce new-vehicle prices. Transportation Secretary Duffy said, "American auto workers will welcome a major victory on Monday." DOT's own estimates show the rule would cut new-car costs but raise fuel consumption and CO2 emissions over the coming decades.
