The China Council for International Cooperation on Environment and Development (CCICED) opened its 2026 annual meeting in Beijing on Sept. 27. Minister of Ecology and Environment Huang Runqiu, CCICED Chinese executive vice-chair, said the seventh CCICED produced a series of policy recommendations over the past five years that have supported China’s environmental and development agenda and offered reference for global sustainable development. He called on the council to continue as a platform to deepen pragmatic cooperation, accelerate green development to benefit the public, boost innovation to drive the global green transition, and help shape a fairer, more cooperative global environmental governance framework.
