IRNA quoted Iran’s ambassador to Iraq as saying officials are in talks and a new decision on flight arrangements is likely soon. He said roughly 12,000–13,000 passengers travel daily on Iran Air services between the two countries. Earlier reports said Iraq is negotiating with the US for exemptions for some airports from US aviation sanctions targeting firms that do business with Iran Air.

Saudi Foreign Minister Faisal told the UN General Debate that Saudi Arabia and regional states have been hit by attacks from Iran, with security assets and civilian and economic infrastructure targeted. He reiterated Riyadh’s right to defend its security, sovereignty, citizens and resources, and said freedom of navigation must be guaranteed in all international waterways—notably the Strait of Hormuz, Bab al‑Mandeb, the Red Sea and the Gulf of Aden. He added that energy security depends on system resilience; Saudi Arabia is securing supply continuity through long‑term infrastructure investment and oil reserves held outside the region, and supports supply‑route diversification and navigation freedom.
