Refinitiv reported on the 27th that British police evacuated residents from
multiple homes near Welford, close to RAF Fairford — a base the UK allowed US
forces to use for strikes on Iran after a large-scale US and Israeli operation
on Feb. 28. Several men were arrested on suspicion of offences under the
Explosive Substances Act and military explosive experts were examining vehicles.
Authorities moved residents to a nearby leisure centre and said the incident was
under control; police would not confirm whether the arrests were linked to
activity at Fairford.
