China National Bureau of Statistics chief statistician Yu Weining said Jan–Aug
2026 profits at industrial enterprises above designated size in high‑technology
manufacturing rose 54.7% YoY, 39.0 percentage points faster than all industry.
Driven by accelerated compute infrastructure build, optical fiber and optical
cable manufacturing profits rose 5.3‑fold and 1.0‑fold respectively. In
computing and optoelectronics, profits at computer assembly, computer
peripherals, industrial control computers & systems, and communication system
equipment manufacturers rose 3.9‑fold, 2.6‑fold, 1.3‑fold and 48.7%
respectively. Instrumentation and new medical instrument manufacturing also
accelerated: navigation/surveying/meteorological/marine instruments up 2.2‑fold
and dental medical devices up 70.2%.
