China's MIIT and six other ministries issued a 15th Five-Year Plan for the new
battery industry, directing innovation in key materials and process technologies
for solid-state batteries and improved information-sharing between basic
research and engineering applications. The plan targets advances in interface
contact, high ionic conductivity, long cycle life and engineering
pressure-system design, and promotes integrating high-voltage, high-capacity
cathodes with new lithium-metal-based and lithium-free anodes.
