IRNA quoted a source denying reports of Iran–US talks in New York. The Iranian delegation is in New York for the UN General Assembly; the source said Iran conveyed its positions to the US via Qatari mediation last Tuesday and is awaiting a US response, and that there are no plans for a new round of talks in New York. The foreign minister will return home on Tuesday after completing the scheduled program.

China A-share pharmaceutical stocks showed pockets of strength: Jinyao Pharmaceutical hit the daily limit, Livzon Pharmaceutical Group had earlier hit the limit, and Puluo Pharmaceutical, Jiankangyuan, Xinhua Pharmaceutical and Kanghong Pharmaceutical were among the top gainers.
