Today (Sept. 28, 2026) the Sichuan Culture and Tourism Development Conference and the 12th China (Sichuan) International Tourism Investment Conference opened in Chengdu. Organizers unveiled a '1+8+N' program — one main session, eight themed events and multiple consumer activities — timed to the Mid-Autumn and National Day holidays. Chengdu will stage over 200 cultural and tourism events, publish 50 flagship activities across music/performance, museum exhibitions, cultural-tourism consumption, local folk customs and fashion/lifestyle, and promote 10 themed scenes and 13 curated routes. The city will issue cultural and tourism consumer vouchers worth tens of millions of yuan covering hotels, packaged tours and live entertainment.

Mitsubishi UFJ Morgan Stanley Securities moved forward its projected BOJ rate-hike dates from Jan 2027 and Jun 2027 to Dec 2026 and Apr 2027. The firm said that as markets increasingly price further Fed hikes, the BOJ may quicken withdrawal of policy support. BOJ July minutes showed one policymaker noting core inflation is nearing 2% and that upside price risks warrant greater attention, saying the pace of tightening could be faster than markets expect.
