The China Council for the Promotion of International Trade said at a press briefing that preparations for the 2026 APEC Business Leaders' Summit, scheduled for Nov 17-18 in Shenzhen, are progressing smoothly.

Rupiah tumbled below 18,000 per dollar to 18,010 on Tuesday, its weakest since Aug. 4, as Asian currencies came under pressure from rising global bond yields, renewed US‑Iran tensions and firmer oil. Overnight the US 10‑year Treasury yield surged above 5.27% — a 19‑year high — while the dollar hovered near a two‑month peak. Trimegah Sekuritas chief economist Fakhrul Fulvian said the rupiah’s weakness is mainly driven by external factors, particularly higher global long‑term yields, with large‑scale bond purchases by Bank Indonesia also a factor. He warned that "if yields are pushed down below what private investors expect, adjustment pressure may shift to the exchange rate."
