Huawei senior vice president and head of Smart Car Solutions BU Jin Yuzhi said Huawei seeks win‑win cooperation with automakers and urged deeper OEM–supplier collaboration rather than blanket in‑house development. He warned automakers to carefully cost self‑developed driving systems, saying required investment could run from several billion to more than 10 billion yuan; with many automakers selling under 1 mln units a year, software alone would add several thousand yuan per vehicle before ongoing iteration and additional hardware/domain‑controller costs, making in‑house development uneconomical.
