Oman integrated energy firm OQ is considering the purchase of two VLCCs for use as floating storage. Oman plans to more than double oil storage capacity at Duqm.

China's National Financial Regulatory Administration and MOFCOM issued a notice urging closer coordination between commerce authorities and insurers to expand domestic trade insurance. They encourage local commerce departments and insurers to share registries of high-quality domestic and foreign-trade firms and support insurers using those lists to provide domestic trade insurance to eligible companies. Insurers are urged to rely on industry-chain leaders to implement upstream-downstream chain underwriting and to embed domestic trade insurance across the full lifecycle of key industry chains. The notice calls for broader credit-assessment metrics for new sectors and business models, clear risk-control review standards, and innovation in differentiated underwriting to support service trade, digital trade and green trade. It also directs an underwriting tilt toward goods-transport and circulation sectors to keep goods and services flowing, and—subject to overall risk control—to streamline policy procedures and strengthen SME insurance protection mechanisms.
