The FT reports NVIDIA (NVDA.O) is in talks with insurance firms to shift part of the financing risk for its capital-intensive AI chips to insurers and other investors. Sources say NVIDIA is studying structures including insurance for lenders that finance emerging cloud providers: if a borrower defaults and repossessed NVIDIA chips cannot be resold for sufficient proceeds, the insurance would cover part of the loss.
