UBS chief economist George Tharenou said the Reserve Bank of Australia is signaling a further rate increase in November and that hikes could extend beyond that. UBS forecasts headline inflation at 3.8% YoY in Q3 2026 versus a 2.5% target, leaving upside risk to the official cash rate after November and raising the odds of a February move to 5.10%.

McKinsey said in a report on Tuesday that AI could require about 11 mln US workers—roughly 7% of the current workforce—to change occupations by 2035. The firm said AI may create more jobs than it displaces, but the transition will be painful: the annual number of US workers switching occupations (historically about 215,000) could double over the next decade. McKinsey estimates around six in seven affected workers will need substantial retraining and face risks of lower earnings.
