President Trump said Tuesday he signed a document with US technology executives
in Washington described as "ethically binding" on artificial intelligence and
likened it to "in some ways like a constitution," saying it could provide a
protective framework for AI development. He said the administration is
considering creating an oversight committee of about 10 members to supervise AI
development, and that he has formally renamed artificial intelligence (AI) as
Super Intelligence (SI). Trump has previously said the US does not need new
AI-specific regulation and opposed a global scheme to control AI at the UN
General Assembly.
