Hang Seng Index futures opened the day session down 0.39% at 24,353, trading 171 points below the cash index.

Spot gold slipped below $4,170/oz, down 0.27% on the day. Spot silver fell under $61/oz, down 0.77%.

Lithuanian prime minister said Lithuania is prepared to cover costs to host a permanent U.S. military presence and has raised the proposal with Washington, adding that if the U.S. is willing Lithuania would facilitate it. He said he had spoken with U.S. presidential envoy to neighboring Belarus John Cole and thanked the Trump administration for sending a new rotation of up to 1,000 U.S. troops to Lithuania, saying the deployment makes Lithuania feel more secure against Russia.
