Sweden’s National Institute of Economic Research (NIER) said on Wednesday it
raised its 2026 GDP forecast to 3.0% from an August estimate of 2.4%, while
cutting its 2027 growth forecast to 2.4% from 2.8%, citing rising inflationary
pressure. NIER said 2026 growth is driven by household consumption, investment
and exports. It raised its 2027 headline inflation forecast to 2.6% from 2.1%
and warned that inflation running above the Riksbank’s 2% target will weigh on
the economy in 2027.
